The How
How does one optimize the search engine?
By studying The SEO Guide By Yasir, 😀😆. Yes, you read that right because in this series you would learn about SEO strategies, and you would understand how search engines rank products, ranking factors, and backlinks.
So “how?” You say, well this process consists of two types; non-technical optimization and technical optimization.
Non-Technical Optimization
This process includes content creation and optimization, obtaining backlinks, and optimizing for voice search and keywords search.
Technical Optimization
This includes improving product page speed, image load time, and the product’s website/software/application architecture.
In this part of the series let’s take a look at;
Non-Technical Optimization
You should have three priorities when creating and optimizing content:
- Ensure the product’s website/software/application is easy to access and crawl.
- High-quality keywords driven content.
- Acquiring backlinks from high authority websites.
Once, these three are your topmost priority and are archived. Be rest assured your product’s position in organic search ranking would skyrocket to the top 10% of search engine listings.
Priority One
The product’s website/software/application should be easy to access and crawl by the search engines, every search engine uses a different algorithm, hence their results defer. But there are mutual factors that are widely known to influence search ranks across all search engines, these are:
Authority: Search engines decide whether the content they crawl is trustworthy and relevant to the searchers. To assign an authority ranking, search engines weigh up how many backlinks from trusted websites your product has managed to obtain. The more trusted backlinks from relevant sites, the higher the product would rank in search engine authority rankings.
Relevancy: Searches are made to seek pieces of information on specific topics, therefore search engines provide the searcher pages that have the most relevant content for the search term. Hence ensure that when creating content for the product it’s keyword driven.
Usefulness: If search engines give your content high authority and relevancy value, they would still need to check its usefulness before it ranks in a search result. So if search engines don’t find your content useful, they won’t score your product highly. This goes to show how important it is for your content to be useful.
So how does one achieve these factors to get ranked among the top 10%?
First “Structure”: The content has to be well organized, use clear language, and use subheaders to break up large chunks of text. This way the content is guaranteed to get a high usefulness score from the search engine. With proper content structuring even if the product doesn’t have quality backlinks it would still rank in the top 15% of the search result.
This is because search engines follow the User Experience Signals this is by measuring the usefulness factor based on how the users/consumers interact with it. So, organization, structure, and clarity are key factors that determine whether the user experience is positive or negative which in turn would determine the product ranking on the search engine.
Conclusion
Take your time to rightly organize, structure, and clarify your content also ensure it’s interactive this would boost the User Experience Signals rating. Because search engines measure the User Experience Signal of contents on the web when they crawl their index of sites to discover the content the users/consumers love.
So, this goes to prove that the first and most important thing in non-technical search engine optimization is the User Experience towards your content. Prioritize it!
I expect questions for clarification. Kindly criticize and make corrections as well. Share Thank you.
